I have a holiday home – do you measure outside of Melbourne?

Yes! Why not take rough measurements yourself and if you are happy with the quote we can meet you there to discuss fixing. In particular we travel to the Mornington Penninsula and the West Coast, including Anglesea & Lorne, frequently.

I have a window which is hard to reach, what would you recommend?

We offer motorisiation for most of our window furnishing products making it easier for you to open and close your blinds via a remote control – no cords or chains needed! If you are building or renovating, we recommend that you organise your motorised blinds as early as possible so we can supply cables while you are building to make installation easier.

I have an odd shaped window, what sort of product should I look for?

Often a pleated blind may be the perfect solution, or a customised shutter. Feel free to drop in and chat to one of our trained consultants to see what will work best for you. Read our latest blog post on odd shaped windows.

I am building a new home, at what stage do I need advice on window furnishings?

Bring in your plans as early as possible so we can work with you to ensure that you have allowed for adequate fixing and space in pelmets for blinds and curtains. Also because motorisation is so important we can supply electrical cables early to your builder before plastering commences.

What are the main types of blind fabrics that are available?

In most product categories there are three types of fabrics – sheer, transparent and blockout. Sheer fabric provides privacy in the day but at night people can see in. Translucent fabric allows all the natural light to enter but does not allow vision in or out in the day or night. And blockout fabric blocks both light and vision. Ideal to use in your bedroom for darkness.

What blinds provide the best insulation?

Achieving a completely blockout room can be difficult, the only way to do this is with curtains and a pelmet. Roman blinds are also commonly used where curtains are not appropriate. Read our recent blog post on getting your bedroom as dark as possible.

How long before my blinds will be ready?

Lead times vary depending on the product you order. Many blinds are ready within a few weeks and we’ll be able to provide you with an exact time and will contact you once they are ready for installation. Allow extra time at Christmas.

How do I clean my blinds?

Different blinds and shades are different and not all cleaning tips apply to all our products. If you’re unsure, please contact Us. All of our blinds come with clear and concise cleaning and care instructions.
